This activated carbon filter reduces particulate down to 15 micronss nominal for all incoming water. The universal design allows for use on both chlorinated (municipal) and non-chlorinated (well water) systems. Aqua-Pure AP910R Whole House Replacement Filter Cartridges helps to reduce iron and particulate in up to 100,000 gallons of water, a typical years supply dependant on water quality, before replacement. The cartridges have a high flow rate, providing up to 20 gallons (75.7 liters) of filtered water per minute. A sanitary design minimizes spills and keeps filtration media enclosed during change-outs. Nonwoven polyester blend pleated filter media has a five-microns filtration rating. A cartridge change is recommended at one year. Manufactured by 3M Purification Inc., formerly CUNO Incorporated, the cartridge is made from CFR-21 certified materials. It can operate at temperatures from 40-100F (4.4-37.8C) and at water pressures from 25-125 psi (172-862 kPa). It does not require pre-activation, and has an O-ring seal type.
