Product DescriptionThese genuine high quality filter cartridges have been designed to maintain clean and fresh drinking water for your pet when installed in your Cat Mate or Dog Mate fountain. The cartridges are triple action. First, the fine polymeric filter fibers trap hair, dirt and food residue, improving the life of the pump. Second, the highly activated filter carbon removes odors including chlorine and dramatically improves the taste of the water, making it attractive even to the largest pets. Third, the ion exchange resin helps prevent harmful descaling deposits by softening the water. Genuine cartridges bear the Dog Mate or Cat Mate logo and use only food grade extruded activated carbon. Cartridges are individually wrapped and should be rinsed with cold tap water before use. They should be replaced monthly, or sooner if they become clogged. After this time, the activated carbon will no longer be effective even if the filter seems clean. Never run your fountain without a filter installed. All Cat Mate and Dog Mate feeders, fountains, and accessories are made from food grade BPA free plastic.
